Tourism in the Yonne

The river valley of the Cure and Yonne near the Nivernais canal in Burgundy are the perfect places to recharge your batteries, particularly between the month of march to november witch are most popular for boating and tourism.
 
Auxerre, the famous football club AJA;
Chablis with its vineyards;
Vezelay, UNESCO world heritage site with its remarquable basilic;
and the charming city of Avallon, leading to the Morvan, national Park
- all this town are the most see for visitors.
 
Visitors to the caves at Arcy-sur-Cure can still see the original paleolithics paintings dating back twenty eight thousand years (in Chauvet and elsewhere the original paintings are no longer open to public).

Other attractions include nature reserve and fossils at Mailly le Chateau, the Cistercian Abbey (12th century) at Reigny  and market town of Vermenton, etc. Whetter on foot, by bike, by boat or car, take time to discover the magnificent architecture heritage, châteaux and chjarming "lavoirs" (washhouses) backdrop will provided to your Burgundy experience; and don't forget to sample our local produces and check out the festivals, excursions and numerous other activities.
